Sports are definitely a major attraction in Nashville, Tennessee. Two professional teams that are big draws are the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League and the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. Both teams’ home games are within 10 miles of the Antioch Quarters Inn & Suites.

Nashville Predators. A professional ice hockey team, the Nashville Predators are in the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League. Their first season was 1998-1999 under head coach Barry Trotz, formerly of the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League. Predators’ home games are played at Sommet Center, which for years was known as the Gaylord Entertainment Center and Nashville Arena. During the 2003-2004 season, the Predators, still under head coach Barry Trotz, finished eighth in the Western Conference, entitling them to make their very first trip to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Tennessee Titans. The Tennessee Titans of Nashville, Tennessee are a professional football team in the South Division of the American Football Conference in the National Football League. Formerly the Houston Oilers, who started playing in 1960 in the old American Football League and won two AFL championships, the team moved to Tennessee in 1997. For two seasons, Tennessee retained the Oilers nickname. In 1999, Adelphia Coliseum (which has since been renamed LP Field) was the new home of the newly-named Titans, who finished the season 13 - 3 - the best record in the team’s history.
